How to record a video to add to my ticket and get better help

There are lots of screen recording and capture devices out there.  If you are Submitting a Ticket for support from the Riverscapes Consortium, it is often easier for our Application Support Specialists to help you and troubleshoot your problems if they can literally see (and hear) what you're trying to do. So record us a video, post it on YouTube and share the link!  There are many ways to record your screen.

Recording

On Windows

One of the simplest ways in Windows 11 now is to just use the Microsoft Snipping Tool:


Using Screen Capture in Windows 11 hold down the Window Key + ALT Key  + R to bring up a simple screen recorder. 


Or, if you want a little more control, you can use a standalone application like FastStone Capture.


Save the recording, and you will upload it to YouTube or your favorite video streaming service. 

On Mac

Quicktime Player comes with your Mac and has a built in with a screen recorder:


On iOS


On Android




Then Upload to YouTube


We suggest uploading your video to YouTube as "Unlisted" and then just share the URL
