Is there a Riverscapes Viewer for ArcPro?

Not yet. We want to make one, but have not gotten the budget yet to do so. We hope to rectify this by end of 2024. As ESRI rapidly makes ArcGIS 10.x obsolete, our ArcView AddIn for the Viewer is becoming less and less important. Most people that are stuck using ESRI GIS are using ArcPro. We fully intend to make an ArcPro Riverscapes Viewer when we can secure the funds.

For those looking to author their own Riverscape Projects, the easiest place will be Riverscapes Studio. We have no intention of making Riverscapes Studio for ArcPro, and instead will continue to develop that platform for QGIS as QRiS.

Workarounds

You can still load the GIS data in riverscapes projects. Moreover, you can download the *.lyr file symbology (if you know what your doing - i.e. can find the correct layer files to "import symbology" for your layer of interest and project type) from the RiverscapesXML repo.

Better yet, make the switch to a free and reliable, open-source GIS platform → QGIS and use our Q- Plugin!  You can download and install in under five minutes for free and spare yourself the $1000s per year in ESRI licensing. Plus, you can install QGIS on Windows, MacOS and Linux.

Update as of 7/9/24

Our development team has a Beta pre-release of the ArcPro AddIn working.  We don't have all the features yet of the QRiS Viewer, but it does open projects. Also, we have not updated all the Arc *.lyr files to *.lyrx files, so it will take us a while to get those working.

Update as of 6/26/24

Our development team has an Alpha internal release of the ArcPro AddIn working.  The AddIn can read Riverscapes Projects and add things to the map. We are still plumbing the symbology. We will release a Beta version in July. Version 1 will not include the new Uploader that was added Q-Viewer in 0.9.2 release.

Update as of 2/18/24

BLM has stepped up and is prioritizing funding the development of an ArcPro Riverscapes Viewer AddIn.  We hope to release it by the summer!
