RAVE has been superseded by the Riverscapes Viewer. Our original plugin for viewing riverscapes projects was RAVE. We were inconsistent on what this stood for. Sometimes it was called the Riverscapes Analysis Visualization Explorer. Other times Riverscapes Assessment Visualization Explorer. Both were misleading because RAVE neither did analyses, nor assessments, nor visualizations (other than GIS). RAVE was really just a way to view your riverscapes projects in GIS. We have also tried to simplify the number of user interface software and applications we are maintaining in the Riverscapes Consortium, and for those get away from acronyms (we can't help ourselves on the models).
