What is Sponsorship
Sponsorship is a premium feature which allows you to share your storage limit with other users of your choice. When you sponsor someone they become your beneficiary, allowing them to create series on your behalf. Any images added to your sponsored series count towards your storage limit rather than your beneficiary's stage limit. There is no limit on the number of beneficiaries you can have!
As a sponsor, your name is displayed whenever someone views a sponsored series created by your beneficiaries.
To become a sponsor, you must have a paid subscription to Phlux. Upgrade your Phlux subscription here!
Series Permissions
When creating or updating a series, you can choose who has access to view and add photos to it.
Unsponsored series have the following permissions:
Private series can only be viewed and contributed to by you.
Public series can be viewed by anyone but only you can add images.
Open series can be viewed and contributed to by anyone.
When a series is sponsored, it can always be viewed by you and all of your beneficiaries. This means if any of your beneficiaries creates a sponsored series for you, or you create your own sponsored series, then you and your entire team of beneficiaries can all contribute! The permissions for sponsored series are similar to those of a regular series:
Internal sponsored series are the equivalent of private series. They can only be viewed and contributed to by you and your beneficiaries.
Public sponsored series can be viewed by anyone but only you and your beneficiaries can add images.
Open sponsored series can be viewed and contributed to by anyone, the same as regular Open series.
Sponsoring a User
You can add a new beneficiary on your Profile tab.
On your profile, tap Sponsored Users.
Here you can search for users and add them as your beneficiaries by tapping +Sponsor.
If you are viewing your profile and do not see the sponsorship options, you may need to upgrade your Phlux subscription. If already have a subscription and still don't see the sponsorship option, please contact support so we can help!
Creating a Sponsored Series as a Beneficiary
Before creating a sponsored series, you need to have a sponsor! As a beneficiary, you can view your current sponsors on your profile. There is no limit on the number of sponsors you can have.
Once you have confirmed you have a sponsor, you can begin creating a series! The process is the same as making a regular series until you reach the Finalize screen. After entering the series name and description, you will see the profile picture of your sponsor. You can click on them to change the series to a sponsored series.
If you have multiple sponsors, make sure you are selecting the correct one! You can then complete your series as usual. The sponsored series will show your sponsor under the contributors and the images you add to the series will count towards your sponsor's data limits rather than your own.
You can also update an existing series to change it to a sponsored series!
Adding to a Sponsored Series as a Beneficiary
As a beneficiary, you can view and add to all of your sponsor's sponsored series. You can view your sponsors and their sponsored series by viewing your profile. Tap the number next to your sponsor to open a list of all of their sponsored series.
You can add photos to any of their series following the steps here!
Creating a Sponsored Series as a Sponsor
As a sponsor, you can create a sponsored series by selecting yourself as a sponsor. This will allow you to start a series that your beneficiaries can then contribute to. You can also create an open sponsored series which anyone can add photos to that will count towards your storage quota rather than theirs.
The process is the same as making a regular series until you reach the Finalize screen. After entering the series name and description, you will see your own profile picture under the list of sponsors. You can click on it to change the series to a sponsored series.
Viewing Series You Sponsor
After your beneficiaries have created sponsored series for you, you can view them on your profile by tapping Sponsoring to view a list of all the series you sponsor.
Removing a Beneficiary
As a sponsor, you can remove a beneficiary by going to your profile and tapping on Sponsored Users.
Here you can click -Unsponsor next to the user you would like to remove.
When a beneficiary is removed, as the sponsor you become the owner of any sponsored series the beneficiary created for you. You will now show as the Owner of the series rather than the Sponsor. The beneficiary who created the series for you will still show as a contributor.
